2025 ROCS Summer Camp Program
During each week of camp, we will seek to foster and encourage your child’s innate curiosity with a blend of structured and free play aligned to the camp theme of each week. Our camps are led by highly-qualified Red Oak educators who have a wide range of knowledge and experiences. Additionally, our camp leadership team places a unique emphasis on helping to strengthen your child’s social and emotional skills as well as cultivating a culture that is inclusive, affirming, and welcome to all campers.
Throughout the week, camp counselors will consistently be on the lookout for opportunities to help children practice working through conflicts, responsible decision-making, self-management, effective communication techniques and collaborative learning, all important lessons that we hope last far beyond their time at camp.
Gear policy
We play outside each day at camp… even in the rain!… unless there is extreme weather (high winds, lightning, air quality concerns, etc.), so campers are required to have a rain jacket, rain pants and rain boots/water-ready shoes on hand each day at camp.
Refund/Fees policy
We are able to offer a full refund for cancellations IF we are able to fill your student’s spot. We often have waitlists and are therefore almost always able to offer a full refund. (The sooner you notify us of your cancellation, the more likely it will that you will receive a refund!)
Need to spread out your payments? No problem! Reach out to us at info@redoakcommunityschool.org and we’ll update your account. (Payment needs to be paid in full the week before camp begins.)
Camper Support Needs
We have added a section to our registration form to collect some information about your camper’s support needs. We want to make sure we are aware of any accommodations your camper might need, so please be as honest as possible so we can be prepared to support your camper(s) to the best of our abilities.
Counselor-in-training program
Our CIT program is designed for 12-15yr old students who are transitioning from camper to counselor and would like to gain some volunteer experience working with children. CITs provide an assistance role to our counselors, and are not responsible for camper supervision. CITs must have completed 6th grade and be able to attend a CIT orientation in late June 2024. They do NOT have to be available every week to participate. Their daily schedule will look something like this camp CIT schedule from 2022. Here is what we expect of our CITs. Use camp registration form to register your CIT. There is currently NO charge for CITs.
We like to keep things kid-led around here! As such, we ask loads of kids what their ideas would be if they were in charge of our summer camp. As such, ALL of our themes are based on ideas from ROCS campers! Without further ado, here are our themes for 2025-

Middle School Bridge Week
Week 6: July 28-Aug 1, 2025
Heading to middle school can be a source of stress for some students, but fear not – we've got your back! Our camp, led by two experienced ROCS educators, is designed to create a balance between kid-structured and counselor-structured activities. The focus is on preparing students for the transition to middle school by addressing student worries about next year, mastering locker combinations, navigating crowded school hallways (and social situations!), honing typing skills, and gaining valuable experience with test-taking strategies. Join us for a supportive and informative journey to ease the transition to middle school!
